A career with Beacon.

Job description

Project Manager.

The Beacon Design Collective is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented digital project manager to guide creative projects from ideation to delivery. This person will take ownership of multi-dimensional initiatives—from digital campaigns and web builds to branding and publication design—ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget, and to the exceptional standards Beacon is known for.

What we’re looking for

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years in project management—digital, creative, or agency environments preferred
  • Comfortable using project management tools (e.g. Bonsai, Asana, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus—PMP holders will receive a higher compensation

Desired qualities

  • Strong organizational mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues proactively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Collaborative and thoughtful leadership in guiding creative teams and ensuring clients adhere to work plans and obligations
  • Ability to thrive in a high volume environment and adapt to changing circumstances; a high tolerance for juggling multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to foster a motivated and cohesive project team environment

What we’re offering

Compensation (hourly)

  • We base our compensation on industry standards and anticipate paying between $34 and $42 per hour (to start), based on experience.

Commitment

Hours per week

This is a permanent full time position that will be paid hourly. We are looking for 30-40 hours of your time each week and allow somewhat flexible start and end times.

Availability

While we do have flexible start and end times, and our mandatory overlap is limited to 9:00 a.m. PST to 1:00 p.m. PST Monday through Thursday, the expectation is that the project manager will be available to answer emails from Monday to Friday roughly from 8:00 a.m. PST to 4:00 p.m. PST in order to uphold our commitment to our clients to respond to their emails with lightning speed (same day).

Time off

We are closed between December 24 and January 2 annually. We are also closed on all statutory holidays. We start folks at two weeks of paid time off plus five sick days, along with birthdays off with pay.

Overtime and after hours work

We have an averaging agreement in place with our full-time employees in order that they may work longer days Monday through Thursday and finish early on Fridays. If we get to the interview stage we can explain this policy more clearly for you.

Where you’ll work

You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You will work from home.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and monitor project scope, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and KPIs for digital and creative projects, ensuring that clients adhere to contracted obligations
  • Build and manage viable work plans using templates and to Beacon’s standard specifications, in Bonsai
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams (designers, developers, writers, external partners)
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders—internal leadership, clients, and vendors
  • Monitor project milestones, track performance, and adjust plans to mitigate risks or delays
  • Anticipate challenges proactively; propose solutions before issues escalate
Manage budgets, track spending, and ensure projects stay within financial and time constraints
  • Ensure our project management procedures are followed and kept up to date, and all relevant project materials are made available to project team members when most appropriate
  • Ensure all work meets creative, technical, and business quality standards
  • Drive project post-mortems, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvements
